If you don’t want to leave your dog or cat at home, you can board it at the Four Paws Inn only 15 minutes drive from the resort. Although we have pets of our own and love them, most guests prefer that we maintain this policy.
Four Paws Inn is only a 15 minute drive from Blue Water Acres and is a wonderful boarding alternative to boarding your pet in the city. Here they can lap up the fresh air and beauty of their own fun-filled pet-style Muskoka vacation. Four Paws Inn was designed with features in mind to ensure a safe clean environment for your pets while they are away from home. Dogs are individually exercised four times a day on trails and large fenced outdoor yards. You can also take your pet with you on your daily excursions away from the resort. Your dog will love a trip to Algonquin Park. Remember however, that you may not bring your pet back to Blue Water Acres, no matter how well behaved or trained it is.

Check in time is 4:00 PM. Arriving a couple hours early is not a problem, you are welcome to use the resort facilities while you wait for your cottage to become available.

Check out time is 10:00 AM. To ensure the cottage is ready for any incoming guests, we ask that you adhere to current check out times. You are welcome to stay at the resort for a couple hours and use the facilities after checking out of your cottage.

Your deposit will be refunded if cancellation is made a minimum of 28 days prior to your scheduled date of arrival, subject to a $30.00 cancellation fee.  There is no refund for early departure.

The cottages do not have phones. Over the years our guests have indicated a preference of not having phones in the cottages. There is access to payphones at the resort. Guests also have access to the Internet and their email from a computer provided in our lobby. Guests in fractional cottages can obtain a VOIP phone from the office for a nominal fee. Guests can also use their own cell phones.

Free Internet is available in all of the luxury cottages. Those staying in our Traditional Cottages have access to internet from our office.

Cell phone service is available in the area. Reception in and around the resort is generally reported as average to good.

Blue Water Acres is located about 26km (20 minute drive) from the West gate of Algonquin Park. It is 60km through the Park to the East gate.

We do have pack and plays and high chairs available for you to borrow free of charge. Please let us know prior to your arrival to ensure availability.

No smoking is permitted in the cottages, but you may smoke outside on your deck or patio.

Cottages and resort facilities are distributed in an area covering about 30 acres. Roadways and walkways are gravel and may be uneven. Some cottages and all main buildings have wheel chair ramps. Although we’ve had many guests with wheelchairs, bathroom doorways are less than 36 inches in width. Guests requiring wheelchairs will need some assistance from a companion to enjoy resort facilities. Seniors generally have no difficulty getting around the resort.

Hospital facilities are located about 18km (15 minute drive) from Blue Water Acres in the town of Huntsville.

A security deposit of $750 on a credit card is required on arrival with rentals of any of the new luxury cottages.

Yes, rates are quoted in Canadian dollars. Rates are subject to change without notice.

All cottages have fully equipped kitchens. Should you wish to dine out elsewhere, you’ll be pleased with the wide selection of restaurants in the area. There are over 50 to choose from.

Firewood and fire logs can be purchased from the resort office. Luxury cottages have gas fireplaces.
