One of the oldest and most famous wilderness park in Ontario. It was established over 100 years ago to protect a vast wilderness area more than 7500 square kilometres in size. This area of ancient rock, sculptured by glaciers consists of quiet forests, rolling hills, and an endless network of rivers and lakes. It's a great place to see wildlife in their natural habitat. The Visitor's Centre and Logging Museum are well worth visiting. Fishing, canoeing, hiking, bird watching, and mountain cycling are popular activities in the Park. Situated on 2 beautiful lakes with sandy beaches. Visitor's can enjoy swimming, canoeing, fishing, and hiking. In winter it's a great place to go cross-country skiing. A reconstruction of a typical crossroads settlement at the turn of the century. This Village includes 17 restored pioneer buildings from throughout the Muskoka area. Interpreters in period costume are there to make the visit more authentic. There is also a working 1902 Steam Train called the Portage Flyer which originally was located between North and South Portage right next to Blue Water Acres.
