Winter Getaways in Muskoka
The resort is situated on the shores of Lake of Bays in the heart of Muskoka, an area renowned in winter for its large annual snowfall, spectacular beauty, clean air, and abundance of wildlife.
Although snow arrives in this area as early as late October, winter conditions for outdoor activities are generally not reliable until some time during December. Downhill skiing and snowboarding may start during November if the weather is cold enough to make snow. Generally by Christmas there is lots of snow. The lake is usually frozen by early January and doesn't open up again until late April.

There is much to do and see at Blue Water Acres. There are more recreational facilities than most other resorts in Ontario. During winter there are multiple activities on site to choose from including skating, cross country skiing, tubing, tobogganing, ice fishing and snowshoeing. Snowboarding, downhill skiing, dog sledding, sleigh rides and snowmobiling are all available close by.
